Picture yourself chaufered up a tree lined drive. As you leave behind the urban jungle and enter this oasis of tranquillity, you begin to emerge yourself into a forest of silver birch, exceptional Oak trees and swaying pines. You soon come across Forever Green, situated into the middle of this, surrounded by a patchwork of wild flowers with Scotts Pine trees towering above its huge glass windows. The places that lie close to the parks gates like Nottingham, Chesterfield and Newark are now but a faraway memory as you begin to relax in all these peaceful surroundings.

As you enter Forever Green and are greeted with a glass of bubbly and home-made canapés, you enjoy the venue’s clean-lined, leaf-hued rooms. Nottinghamshire wedding photography

Photographing a wedding is a great responsibility, but with preparation and a few helpful hints, it can even be fun.

Take a look at a few tips before you comit.

Get a contract which specifies the plan, exactly what the couple will get, and any specific liabilities you may accept in the event that they are not happy with the pictures. If at all possible, start off by working as a good associate or second shooter for a experienced professional. If perhaps you have never worked a wedding, only accept the job if couple haven't originally budgeted for a professional photographer. Arrange meeting with the partners to talk about their expectations. Request a picture schedule. Go to the run through to pick up an plan of how the big day could progress. It also gives you you an opportunity to meet the close family.

Contact the ceremony facility and ask about their guidelines on picture making. Many churches and temples allow flash during the brides entrance and couple leaving the Church but not at the time of the ceremony. The officiate may possibly also have strong thoughts about the place photographers should stand at the time of the ceremony. Dress suitably. Dress similar to a wedding guest and don't upstage the bridal party. Bring at least two of every thing: two camera bodies, as a minimum two lenses, two flashes, and plenty of memory cards and more batteries for every thing. If you have to have it for the job, you need to have two, perhaps even if you have to hire them. Take adequate lenses to have excellent range. You will want a wide -angle lens together with a decent telephoto or zoom lens. If your current lenses will not be fast or sharp enough, hire them. Understand your gear. Read the manuals and understand every feature on the camera. Understand how to do the job with available light and the best way to use fill flash. Set your camera to RAW. This provides you with a whole lot more flexibility all through post work.

Arrive some time before the marriage ceremony. This is your opportunity to get behind-the-scene photographs of the wedding couple. Just remember, these will be exciting, but tense times for wedding couple, so hang back, and focus on candid shots. Capture the details. The flowers, the shoes, the cake will be all part of the special day and the story you are striving to show. Shut off any sound on your camera for the wedding. It is your profession not only to record the important moments but also to be sure that no one sees you doing it. Most people expect photographers to photograph traditional portraits alongside with photojournalistic candids.

Try to get the girls and boys independently ahead of the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony and receiving line, corral the wedding party for group portraits. Start with the largest groups, whittling down the smallest combinations of families and friends so that people can hit the bar or buffet. Capture pictures of family and friends at their tables, but be respectful and refrain from photographing people during meal courses. Nobody looks his or her best with a mouthful of greens. After the portraits, retreat to the background, but be sure to be readily available for any photographs the couple or their mother and father might want. Make sure images are prepared when the couple comes back from their honeymoon. Whenever the couple are happy with their pictures or album, request a testimonial. Referrals and testimonials are the lifeblood of your wedding photography business.

Thank the new Mr and Mrs for the opportunity before and after the wedding, make sure you check out with them that you are finished just before you depart.

Wedding Photographers at Bolsover Castle

Bolsover Castle Couple Portraits

This fairytale 17th century castle at Bolsover is a amazing location for your wedding. Commanding a dramatic hilltop setting with views across the Vale of Scarsdale, Bolsover Castle gives you a choice of four rooms licensed for civil ceremonies. Two are located within the Little Castle, built by Sir Charles Cavendish in 1612. With its high walls, towers and turrets this picturebook building is like a medieval castle in miniature. A stone staircase leads to Bolsover Castle's stunning Jacobean interiors. At its center lies the Star Chamber where couples can exchange their vows witnessed by up to 50 guests. With an elaborate carved fireplace, ornate wooden panelling and impressive blue ceiling with stars gilded in gold leaf, it is an exquisite setting, perfect for your wedding photography. The atmospheric Pillar Parlour, also within the Little Castle, can seat 30 guests. For larger ceremonies, couples can choose either the former Stables or the Riding House which has an impressive oak beam roof. Built by Sir Charles’s son William in 1630, the Riding House was once chosen by Sir William to train his horses in the art of menage, a kind of ballet for horses, where they elegantly circled, leapt and knelt. Able to handle 200 guests for a ceremony, this large and unusual room looks incredible when styled for an evening dinner dance, when it can host 175 guests. The Outer Courtyard is able to hold a marquee for larger parties and is an ideal place for your wedding group photography.

Wedding Photographers in Newstead Abbey

Newstead Abbey wedding photography

Originally the south transept of the Priory Church, the Orangery received its name from the Byron family, who purchased the Newstead estate from Henry VIII in 1540, and converted the transept into a room for maturing citrus fruits. The present custodians of Newstead Abbey are Nottingham City Council, who are working hard to promote this exquisite estate and use the stunning house and grounds as a wedding venue. What better place to have your wedding than the former property of a romantic poet? Newstead Abbey's Orangery is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The Orangery's elaborate plaster ceiling, crystal chandelier and sizeable windows with stunning garden views beyond help to make the Orangery a delightful venue for your civil wedding or partnership. As wedding photographers we highly recommend to the majority of our couples that we take you for the couple portrait photography in the gardens of Newstead abbey straight from your service whilst your guests are occupied with the reception drinks that can be held immediately after the ceremony in the Garden room - a quiet, cool and relaxing space that is ideal for your guests to gather together in. The decor of the Garden Room is a light cream, so your own colour scheme may be introduced to the room if required. Newstead abbey has a great deal of spots for your couple session photography also with it’s open lawns joined by wide, well kept paths and the occasional set of steps, which are most suitable for family group photography. Church wedding photography in Kegworth, Derbyshire

St Michael with St Mary, Church Melbourne Derbyshire

Way back in ancient times, marriage was much less formal. Lovers could make a promise to each other in front of a witness at any place or time, and it was realised as a binding arrangement. In fact, it was regarded as enough to call God as a witness; His power was deemed to be sufficient to override His lack of physical presence! This of course led to many a Knight making a proclamation of marriage to a girl, having his wicked way then disappearing, leaving her to suffer from the consequences.

As many marriages were organized to bring money or power into the family, or to sustain status and position in the community, arranged wedding ceremonies between members of the family were common. In the 11th century the Council of Westminster decreed that no man could arrange the marriage of any woman in his family unit with out church approval, and gradually the church began to have an impact, restricting inter family relationships and getting the ceremony into the Church itself.

To start with, weddings generally took place in the church porch, which is why this space is normally so large in many churches. By the 15th century, Trent Council decreed that every wedding that took place with out a priest was nullified, and the Church was now recognized as the only place to get married. The ordinary form of the marriage vows, “To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part” were being incorporated into the Book of Common Prayer in 1552 and have played a fundamental part in church weddings since.

The architecture of many of our churches makes for extremely charming settings, and the grounds of the church have grow to be the traditional place for many of the professional photographs to be taken. Both the signing of the register and the happy family group outside the church door are important pictures for both the professional photographer and the happy family snappers!
